Community Forest Area Expansion

Working towards expanding the Cherryville Community Forest area…

Inspired by Premier Eby’s 2025 mandate to the Minister of Forests Ravi Parmar to expand community forest programs, CRMC has begun working towards the expansion of the Community Forest License K3T.

Premier Eby stated Community Forest management helps to create more resilient forests and communities. We agree!

Expanding the area of K3T will allow CRMC to manage important and sensitive areas in the Cherryville area, prioritizing forest and watershed health, while ensuring the CRMC society’s economic contribution to community initiatives is maintained.

To initiate our CFA expansion request and communicate CRMC’s intention, a letter was drafted addressed to Honourable Minister Parmar.

Work to secure a more sustainable future for First Nations and communities that depend on local forests for their economic strength by expanding the community forest program.
— Premier David Eby

We’re not in this alone. We appreciate the support received from our First Nations, local government, local industry, BC Community Forests, local community groups, volunteers, and community members.
